Royal-Pedic Baby Crib Mattress (Organic)

Our handcrafted, organic cotton and natural wool mattresses are carefully constructed to offer the best quality and most natural organic mattress available.  The mattress features multiple layers of pristine, organic staple cotton padding that is free of chemical sprays and fire retardant. The layers of organic cotton are supported by our 10oz. heavy duty organic cotton fabric to prevent the cotton from pocketing into the coils, and our Swiss designed 630i Royal Flex® innerspring system provides excellent support and durability.  Included is our chemical free, French Wool wrap that is directly underneath the covering to provide a natural fire barrier to the inner organic cotton layers to pass the Federal laws.

The mattress features our double heat tempered, Royal-Flex® 630i innerspring system designed in Switzerland and is the finest offset coil spring system available. The innerspring unit contains 68% more coils compared to the industry standard. The coils in the mattress are open ended, unknotted, six turn coils providing more flexibility, which means greater sensitivity to body contours, overall body support and relaxation. The innerspring unit is double heat tempered, a process where the coils are baked in an oven, cooled, then baked again. The heat tempering process provides greater durability and resistance to sag. Rather than using foam cylinders or wedges made from petrochemicals to give the mattress a supportive edge, we install T-Spring Side Supports around the perimeter of the Royal-Flex innerspring unit to provide edge to edge sleeping comfort and support.

Our skilled craftsmen hand layer the organic staple cotton padding on each side of the innerspring unit to ensure a consistent, supportive sleeping surface. Over 50 pounds of pre-compressed organic staple cotton go into making a king size mattress! No polyurethane foam padding is in the mattress, so you have lasting support for your body and a healthier sleeping environment. Our organic staple cotton is grown in California, Texas, and Peru. Organic cotton is grown without the use of pesticide sprays and chemical fertilization. To preserve the organic cotton crop from being eaten by insects, predator insects are introduced that eat the insects that would have otherwise eaten the cotton crop. After the organic cotton is harvested, it is bundled, and then converted into layers for use in our organic mattress and box spring constructions.

The layers of organic cotton padding are supported by our heavy duty, 10oz. 100% organic cotton canvas fabric to prevent the cotton from pocketing into the coils. In comparison, many brands of mattresses use a support pad that is comprised of ground up scraps of various synthetic scraps of materials that are glued to a nylon webbed backing.

The layers of organic cotton are surrounded by layering of our chemical free French Wool directly underneath the organic cotton covering to provide a naturally resistant fire barrier to meet Federal and State codes without the use of toxic chemicals. The French wool also provides resistance to dust mites, dissipates moisture, and helps keep mattress surface temperature comfortable with its natural temperature stabilizing properties.

The inner organic cotton padding is encased in our 100% organic cotton ticking woven in the U.S. and Peru, which ventilates body heat, is free of chemicals, and is durable. In contrast, most brands of mattresses use shiny polyester fabrics that contain chemical flame retardant.

The mattress is hand tufted the old fashioned way with European tufting straps to further pre-compress the organic cotton padding for orthopedic back support. We do not use buttons to tuft our mattresses because buttons have a tendency to turn on their side creating an uncomfortable sleeping surface.

Standard and Deluxe Comparison:
The Standard line utilizes 10-12oz., 100 organic cotton fabric made in America. The yam is plied together for more strength before it is woven into fabric to avoid the use of sizing. Once the fabric is woven it is brushed to provide a soft to the touch feel. Otherwise it would feel coarse like sail cloth. The Deluxe line utilizes the most luxurious organic cotton ticking woven in the world. It is woven in Germany on state of the art looms that produce a quality that feels as good as 300 thread count Italian sheets. The fabric features our Royal-Pedic trademark name with the word organic and small clover patterns for a tasteful appearance and very high-end look and comfort.
