After reviewing many high end juicers we decided the best performer (based on quality of juice produced and price) was the Omega.
The Omega may not produce the greatest quantity of juice or produce the highest levels of specific vitamins or minerals but it does produce a juice of excellent quality that is particularly well balanced and easily assimilated.
When juicing wheat grass, the Omega performs as good as most dedicated wheat grass juicers. The Omega is also efficient at juicing greens, celery, and parsley.
The 1½" hopper is the perfect size for carrots, celery, and greens but is a little narrow (compared to other juicers). Fruits and vegetables such as apples, beets, cucumbers etc. need to be cut into smaller pieces.
Replace the plastic collection container that comes with the juicer with a container made of glass.
While this juicer can make soy milk, we do not recommend it. Research findings reveal soy is only beneficial for the body when fermented.
Please note that this juicer is designed to juice at low speed. The slow pressing/chewing action keeps the juice cool and maintains its nutritional value. As a result, it will take a little more time to produce the same quantity of juice as compared to juicers with high speed blades. We think its well worth the extra effort for a better tasting and more nutritious juice!
In our opinion, the very best juicer available is the Norwalk. It is available for purchase direct from the manufacturer only. This is a serious juicer. If you're a first timer, consider purchasing a cheaper brand as an introduction to the "joys of juicing".
