Our e-commerce store is PCI compliant. The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a set of requirements designed to ensure that all companies that process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.
Credit Card Safety
Protecting the safety of your credit card information is very important to us. To provide credit card security and to keep your personal information safe, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, the most widely used data encryption coding system for secure e-commerce transactions. All of your information is encrypted (scrambled) prior to being sent over the Internet to our system. To protect your information once we receive it, we place it on systems behind secure firewalls, which are designed to keep information safe and inaccessible to other Internet users. If your browser doesn't accept the SSL technology, transactions will not be permitted. For additional security, we do not store credit card information on our system.
CVV (credit card security code)
To make your shopping experience as secure as possible, we require you to enter your credit card's 3 to 4 digit security code (CVV). Since the code can only be found on the card itself, it helps to prevent credit card fraud.
Check to Ensure Your Connection is Secure
To confirm that your connection is secure, look for a locked padlock icon or solid key icon at the bottom of your browser window. The letters "https" (rather than "http") located in the URL address window at the top of your browser also indicate that you are using a secure browser.
While the information that is transmitted between you and VSP through this Web site is encrypted to ensure confidentiality, please be aware that electronic mail (e-mail) is not. Please do not e-mail any information that you consider confidential and/or personal in nature, as e-mail can be susceptible to viewing by parties other than your intended recipient.
Your Account & Password
To secure your personal customer information you are required to specify a password during the registration process. We encourage you to use a password that is not easily determinable (e.g., don't use your name or street name). Keep your password secure; do not share it with anyone. Your password is the "key" to your account; anyone who gets this "key" can, along with your e-mail address, gain access to your account.
If you forget your password, to gain access to your account you will need to have access to your e-mail account. On the login page click on the “Forgot Your Password” link and then type in your e-mail address. A message will be sent to your e-mail address containing your password.
If you want to change your password or other account information simply click on “Your Account” at the top of the page and follow the instructions.
Remember to Sign Out
To further prevent unauthorized access to your account, remember that, after you sign in, you should sign out once you have (1) completed your transaction, or (2) completed managing your account, or (3) decided to step away from your computer. Anyone who accesses your computer after you have signed in but before you have either signed out or your session has timed-out can access your account. To sign out, go to “Your Account” and click the sign out button at the top of the page.
